What is Power Plate?
Power Plate is a vibrating platform that easy exercises are performed on. As the vibrations contract the muscles at a rate of between 25-50 times per second, results can be seen in the 3rd of the time and effort of conventional exercise.
How long are the classes?
Our classes are 20 minutes in duration and run every half hour in a fully supervised group of 4. Please arrive 5 minutes before the class.
How does it burn calories as it is not cardio-vascular?
With any type of activity that you expend energy therefore burning calories. As this workout is very intense you will burn more calories than during conventional exercise. If you have stronger more active muscle it helps burn fat whilst resting. If you want to burn more calories and fat why not try a CardioVibes class?
What do I need to wear?
Gym clothes and trainers are not necessary (unless doing CardioVibes which requires wearing trainers). All you need is loose clothing to allow freedom of movement. We just ask that you bring some clean socks.
How different is CardioVibes to Personal training?
CardioVibes takes place during specific times and in a group of 4 utilising the Power Plate. It runs for 40 minutes which equals to 2 sessions out of your course or personal allowance. Personal training is on a 1-2-1 basis with yourself and a trainer. It is 45 minutes and utilises the other pieces of kit in the studio.
I cannot come to the Post Natal Classes at those times, can I come another time?
You can bring your baby along Mon-Fri 9.00-9.30am. You can come at any other time but will have to leave baby at home! When booking a session please let us know you are post natal session so we can be sure to book you into a class with an instructor that is trained in that field.
The only time I can come is 9.30 am but I am not Post Natal is that a problem?
No as long as you do not mind coming along when babies are present!
I have not done Power Plate before but have practiced Yoga for a while, would this be suitable for me?
YogaVibes® is very popular with Yoga enthusiasts but we recommend you try the Power Plate before trying out YogaVibes® . Beko our YogaVibes® teacher is an excellent Yoga teacher and experience Power Plat instructor. Contact Us for your free trial Power Plate session.
Is there anything that would prevent me from using Power Plate?
Yes if any of the following apply to you:
- Pacemaker
- Cancerous tumours
- Newly fitted coils
- Recent joint replacements
- Pregnancy
- Specific spinal problems - please contact us for advice
- Acute Hernia
- Recent surgery - please contact us for advice
